Son will be in Birnkrantz. Anyone know if the janitorial staff comes in to the room sweep, mop, vacumn, or empty trash? If not I guess we need to bring cleaning supplies. Some colleges have a person empty trash in hallway once per week and mop once per week.

In regular dorm buildings, bathrooms and hallways are cleaned regularly by the custodial staff. Students are responsible for their own rooms. You shouldn't need too many cleaning supplies, maybe something just to dust off surfaces. A vacuum can be checked out from the building's customer service center.

In the dorm, daughter needed plastic bags for her trash can (easier to empty, keeps the can nicer), Windex (for everything from windows to mirrors to the microwave) and paper towels (can be used for dusting or with Windex). Otherwise she borrowed the vacuum and that was pretty much all that was needed. The public bathrooms are kept very clean by the janitorial staff.

A small bottle of dish soap & a couple dishcloths, for things like cleaning popcorn bowls or dishes used in the microwave, is an optional extra to consider.

Daughter will be in Cardinal Gardens apartments next year so she will probably need more cleaning supplies there, with a private bathroom.
