I'm a junior in high school and would greatly appreciate anybody's input on my chances of getting into Clemson University.

GPA: 3.55 UW (a little low I know), 4.55 W
All IB classes (equate with AP)
SAT: M:770, CR: 730, W: 720
EC: decent. 120 hrs. of comm. service, NHS member, Science and Math honor society, play in a youth orchestra (1st chair clarinet), play lots of tennis but not for the school team, member of quiz bowl and model UN, have gone to some model UN conferences.

any comments would be very helpful. thanks!

Also, I have recently become obsessed with UC schools, (UCLA, Berkely, UCSB, Harvey Mudd, etc.), but am not sure if this is just a wild dream of mine. if you could chance me for these schools too that would be great. Oh, and I tought myself AP stats and got a 5 on the exam last year. don't know if that's worth anything

it looks like you have pretty good chances...and if your a junior you still have some time to add even more to your ec. maybe you should start taking SAT II's if you havn't

I would think you have a great chance of getting into Clemson, but then again I thought I would as well. I’m out of state in PA, and got waitlisted with:
580 SAT Critical Reading
710 SAT Mathematics (1290/1600)
560 SAT Writing (1850/2400)
28 ACT Composite
29 ACT English
31 ACT Math
3.3 Unweighted GPA
4.0 Weighted GPA
I’m taking 3 AP classes this year, and took one last year. I got 3 A’s and 3 B’s first semester.

What do you think my chances of being accepted off of the waitlist are?

I was accepted this year, I’m OOS, I live in Maine.
Here are my stats:
GPA: 88.5/100 UW which translates to 3.35/4
My Sats were:
Math 730
Critical Reading 590
Writing 500

Taken 3/5 honors classes and 2/5 CP
Taken 2 math classes senior year and 1 science, I’ve never taken any AP’s,
I don’t think Clemson looks at EC’s, but I had some good ones, Captain of Football Team, etc.

I think valstate will be in easily with some scholarships. jrosso, I believe that you should have been accepted and you will get off the list fairly quickly.

Thanks PBoland, I think so too. But I believe I figured out why I was not accepted. Clemson never received my SAT scores, which being a math major, hopefully would have put me in. Considering they were sent electronically and by the guidance couseling office, is it possible that Clemson lost those scores, or maybe my guidance couselor messed up (which is very possible knowing what type of person she is)?
