@Dis3456: Awesome…crossing fingers that brings good news…if you don’t mind letting me know, that’d be great.
hi everyone!
I’m a senior and i applied 10/29 as a nursing major and mine still says awaiting decision.
I have a 4.29 W & 3.87 UW. I’m in the top 9-10% of my class which consists of ab 460ish ppl and I have pretty good extracurriculars such as NHS officer, president of a club, band for all 4 years, HOSA, etc! I don’t believe I have a good shot considering how competitive the nursing program is which is unfortunate bc Clemson is definitely at the top of my list. I am also OOS and didn’t submit test scores as mine kept getting canceled! If anyone has any feedback for me, that’d be great! Good luck to everyone!!
Here is what Clemson told me earlier in the week about an OOS tuition waiver, “The out of state tuition waiver is the [academic merit] scholarship.” They also do not yet know the amount of their academic merit scholarships for the upcoming year. I hope this helps.
Based on the response in the rest of the email, I think that she meant that a $12K scholarship was a partial OOS tuition waiver. I do not believe that that there is any tuition waiver in addition to the amount of the merit scholarship. That was my reading of her response. I hope that this helps. I will be curious to see what the highest merit award is this year.
My DS21’s portal has changed from he should expect a decision by February to he will receive a decision in December. Has anyone else’s child had this change in their status?
This morning DS21’s portal also says he will receive a decision in December, which is also a change from he should expect a decision by February.
Hopefully it means good news for both of our DSs!
My D’s portal also says she’ll receive a decision in December. I hope that’s a good sign!
Mine and my friends both changed to December as well.
Same here. Changed to December. Wonder why?
My D’s changed to December as well. She isn’t a high stats kiddo who would typically hear early, so a little nervous for her right now.
Same here. Fingers crossed it’s a good sign as well.
Same here. Wonder if all early applicants have been updated to December
Clemson is at the top of my S’s list and he is mid-range GPA and SAT scores. I am feeling really nervous for him, too.
My D’s top pick, she absolutely has her heart set on Clemson. Guess it’s better to know earlier either way? Fingers crossed and best of luck to everyone!
Mine has Clemson in her top choices for sure. But she went in test optional. A little nervous!
So why the change? I almost wonder if it’s because kids are more anxious this year with everything going on? I’m pretty sure mine will commit to one of her top choices sooner just to have something to look forward to since senior year is a wash.
Wonder if it’s some kind of glitch? Here’s what’s underneath “you can expect a decision in December”:
“Financial Aid
To be considered for need-based aid, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by January 2, 2021.
Congratulations! Your application is complete. You can expect a decision by mid-February.”
“Financial Aid
To be considered for need-based aid, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by January 2, 2021. To be considered for merit-based scholarships, your application file must be complete by December 31.”
Maybe a glitch with the priority deadline coming to a close?
My S21 changed as well, he applied on 10/13, so was on the early side.
Same my D21, changed to say December. Fingers crossed!
