My son has been accepted to both honors programs. He is planning on being premed. He had always assumed he would go to Clemson, but I have noticed that the honors program at C of C seems a bit more personal in their interactions with potential students. The advisors seem excellent and interested. I have not witnessed the same at Clemson Honors and they really haven’t reached out to us at all. Does anyone have any experience with Clemson Honors? My son is strong academically and socially but needs some one on one to get involved in research/internships etc…
@mom2mojo My son was admitted to both CofC Honors and Calhoun at Clemson. We had the same impression that you had regarding the personal interactions at CofC and their clear investment in their potential, as well as current students. We did not get that feeling from Clemson Honors desire multiple interactions. I have not had interactions personally with parents or students who attend or have attended Clemson Honors, but I have had good friends who’ve had children attend CofC Honors and have had wonderful experiences and that interest in their children was consistent throughout their college career. One other thing to consider with CofC is the close proximity to MUSC and the relationships that CofC has with them regarding opportunities for volunteering and research.
