Clemson, Ohio State, or Purdue?

I have narrowed down my college decision to three choices. I will be majoring in general engineering and most likely transitioning to biomedical engineering with a French minor. I may want to continue to med or PA school but also may just end up not loving health care and get my masters then go more into the profession of engineering.

Clemson
-not accepted to honors
—will apply again when I get there (generally 50-60% acceptance)
-approx 34k a year
-concerns: engineering program not as great as others (not by much I think), may not get into honors, a little concerned about the prevalence and importance of Greek life

Ohio State
-accepted to humanitarian engineering scholars
-will apply to honors when I get there (could only apply to scholars or honors on OG application and scholars can only be joined initially) feel pretty confident I’ll get in

  • approx 28k a year
-concerns: at such a large school I will miss out on opportunities, face much more competition, be a part of huge classes and just be a face in a crowd also weather and housing is terrible and truly kind of dangerous (when you move off campus)

Purdue
-accepted in honors (wow!)
-approx 43k a year
-Concerns: COST! Also, as it is such an amazing engineering school I fear it will be too competitive for my liking or I will be one of the dumber kids there or I will not be able to have a social life at all because all I’ll do is study

Overall, decision day is coming up and I am extremely conflicted. I know Purdue is the best academically and reputation wise but is it worth the cost, especially if I will be going to grad school maybe not even related to engineering.
If anyone could give their advice or inside information on these schools specifically related to engineering or if anyone in a related professional field could comment on how these schools are generally viewed by employers, that would be amazing. Thank you so much! Sorry for the long post!
