For a female business major who wants good school spirit, friendly enviornment, study abroad/internship oppertunites, and a respectable degree. Where would you go?

Miami of Ohio or Miami in FL?

Definitely University of Miami; it’s a pretty highly ranked school (especially when compared to Clemson) and is located in a better environment, if you ask me. I visited Clemson earlier this year and hated it, but it’s different for everyone. The “downtown” is only one street, and it’s over an hour or two away from any real “cities” (Simpsonville/Atlanta) that have things to do. It’s also fairly small and a quiet area. University of Miami, on the other hand, is in a city by a beach that gets a lot of tourists year-round, and the school spirit there isn’t bad either. Good luck deciding! :)

They are two totally different environments - Miami is in a city and Clemson is in a rural part of South Carolina. You definitely have to visit both before making that decision. Academically, UMiami is #53 in BusinessWeek magazine while Clemson is #76.

I currently attend Clemson and our school spirit is amazing (a lot better than Miami), people here are friendly, a Clemson degree is very well respected (and our president is committed to improving the university even more). I know people studying abroad all over the world from London to Brussels to Spain to Africa to India to Singapore etc… and I know business students interning all over the place as well. I’m interning in Charlotte right now and I know many people here working with Bank of America and other companies in the area.

Let me know if you have any questions about Clemson!
