Clemson vs Miami (Ohio) Engineering

My brother is deciding between the two schools and he got the same amounte of aid from both. Which engineering program do you think is better? Miami's engineering is very new, I know that. What do you guys think?

Clemson's civil engineering program is very large and old...don't know about the other programs but have heard of Clemson for engineering, at least.

Miami for engineering? It's well-known as a liberal arts school with a preppie feel and a reputation for a drinking problem. Not for engineering.

clemson's biomed engineering is very good as well

I have heard alot of negatives about Miami's student body being snooty and arrogant. Why do you think they are? I mean the school is in rural Ohio, not Paris France!

Clemson is an absolutely fantastically fun school to attend. The engineering is top-notch, very well-respected, but more than that, the school spirit and student morale is unparalleled. I know folks in their 50s who still wear orange every Friday. It is an incredible school.

Everyone I know ( one who was an engr. major) who has gone to Clemson loved it. Winters in Clemson are much nicer than Oxford. Football is def. better too, lol.

True the school is in rural Ohio more or less, but the reputation doesn't have to do with the town/area - it's the make-up of the student body. (overall, that is - of course not everyone is snooty, not everyone drinks). Miami is a fine school, but given a choice, I think Clemson has a better rep in that field.

Forgot - did you brother visit them both? What were his impressions???
