Does anyone know how Clemson University is for out of state kids particullarly from the north. I was accepted and I really like the school, but I am debating on going because of the out of state adjustment at another state school.

I have known several OOS kids who have loved Clemson, including memebers of my own family. (coming from ohio) The school has loads of school spirit. Is there anything in particular you want to know?

Everyone I know who has gone there absolutely LOVED it.

My son is in his 2nd year at Clemson and we are from Long Island, NY. He does love it, but I must say it was a bit of an adjustment for him. The culture is a bit different down there... slower pace & more conservative/religious. Also, many of the students are close enough to go home on weekends (something my son cannot do). This kind of promoted him making friends with a lot of OOS students. His best friend/roomate is from Boston. He does have many friends & some are from the south. I am not trying to discourage you, just want you to be aware that they may be an adjustment period. As the others mentioned, Clemson has alot of school spirit (football games are awesome) and the students really love it there. I remember reading some survey (Princeton Review - I think) where Clemson was rated in the top 5 of all schools for the happiest students!
