I feel really stupid for asking this but 2 of my classes this quarter require clickers and clickers don't run cheap. So I was wondering if clickers were a one class use kind of thing or a multiple class use kind of thing. Thanks for your time!

This isn’t a stupid question at all. Anyhow, you will want to check with your teacher. There are some clickers that will work for more than one class, but there are certain classes (I believe physics is one of them) where you need to buy a separate clicker for just that class. So, you may end up with one clicker you use for chemistry and another you end up using for physics, but the chemistry one could also be used for an economics class later while the physics one cannot.

Thanks! That cleared up a lot of confusion for me :D

How do you know which classes require clickers? I’m taking CHEM 142 and I’m not sure whether I would need one.

when you click on “required textbooks” for the class, it will say if you need to purchase a clicker

^oohh okay…looks like I won’t need one. Thanks travelgirl :)

And just to clarify, some teachers don’t require clickers because they don’t use clicker questions as part of your grade, but others do, so the best thing to do is just check the required materials like travelgirl said.

See if you can buy old clickers from other students who don’t need them anymore. They definitely aren’t cheap, and I got one for $10 off a friend who was graduating last year.

Also, make sure you get the right type of clicker. I think chem and physics (and some other courses?) may have different types of clickers - someone needs to confirm this.
