Club basketball at Pitt?

I was wondering if the university of pittsburgh (main campus) has a club basketball team. I know they have intramural teams, but i'm not sure about a club team.

If they do, the games will not be held at the Pete!

I am almost certain that Pitt does not have a club basketball team.

I can’t imagine a school like Pitt doesn’t offer intramurals, there’s gotta be something.

But if not, you could find a local pickup team. LA Fitness has a nice pickup league, but you’d have to drive, it’s not located near campus.

Club teams are not like intramurals. Club teams play against other schools, just like varsity. However, unlike varsity, the school gives little if any financial support to club teams. Basically the players pay the costs for the team. In exchange, they have much less time commitment. Club teams are most common for sports not available on the varsity level at a particular school (mens volleyball, rugby, hockey, etc.).

I doubt Pitt offers club mens basketball, but did you check their website?

Checking the websites, Pitt does not offer club basketball. I actually don’t know of any schools that do, but perhaps there are some. Of course, intramural basketball exists at Pitt like it does at every other school.
