Club scene in Ithaca/Cornell?

Ok, I've narrowed my choices down and after flip-flopping, I have come to the conclusion that Cornell is where I will probably ED to. I enjoy the rural environment of Ithaca and the outdoors, but I have one concern:

How is the club scene in Ithaca? I'm no into the whole bar thing, but I want some place(s) where I can go dance on the weekends to have a little fun. Are there places where I can do this in Ithaca? or do I have to resort to bars full of people just getting drunk (which I would rather not do).

Thanks for helping me out guys.

i do know that there are some clubs in Ithaca, but I have never been to them.

Your best bet is the frats. I was surprised when I went to my first frat party, i thought it would be just random people sitting around getting drunk ... but most are actually very club-like. there's always music blasting and usually hundreds of people dancing with all of the lights and cool effects stuff. Very club like, and just a 2 minute walk from your dorm. Plus, free beer!

There are few clubs here.
But the ones I went to were extremely empty (like 10 people on the dance floor)

wo that made me happy gome lol

which frats?
the ones i went to just had people playing beer pong (fun for the first couple of rounds, gets quite tiring after 132532532 rounds)

all of them that are having parties. That wasn't a party.

Try KappaSigma this friday, i think they're having a party. Not sure how big it'll be, but it's the only one i'm certain of right now.

Second Floor in the commons has a pretty good dance scene (It's a bar but the whole floor is wooden slats like a dance floor, and is frequently used as such)

umm do the police ever let up? tke got broken up at 11:30 last friday which is kind of ridiculous.

The cops broke parties up last weekend because the fraternities were technically not allowed to have parties during welcome weekend. From this weekend foward, the parties will all be registered with the university and the cops will stop being giant tools...hopefully. TKE sucked anyways.

believe it or not, you can typically ask cops where the registered parties are and they'll tell you. It's worked for me!!
