club sports teams at tulane

My daughter is going to try out for a club team this week. I was wondering if anyone knows how hard it is to get on a team, and how demanding the practice and competitions might be.

Everything I have heard says getting on the team is pretty easy, but I don’t know much about practice and competitions. My D’s roommate last year was a nationally ranked fencer, and she practiced and went to competitions quite a lot, I thought. But she was also quite serious about it, I am not sure everyone has to be that dedicated. It probably varies by sport also. What is her sport?

Putting in a plug for the ultimate frisbee and paintball teams…

Does anyone know anything about the rowing teams? I’d appreciate any info!

Here is the Tulane page on club sports

and the specific page on the various clubs (may not be totally up to date)

[Club Sports Directory - Reily Student Recreation Center - Tulane University - New Orleans, LA](http://www.reilycenter.com/viewpages.asp?action=view&id=177702&pid=177788)

Phone numbers and other contact info in plentiful supply

The rowing team at tulane is one of the best in the region - they practice very early in the morning as they have to drive (most people on the team get van certified through the university) greater distances to practice / competition waters than most other club sports teams.

My D is practicing with the rowing team and is loving it!
