Hi, I'm interested in swimming in college but I'm not fast enough for some of the schools I'm applying to. I know Ohio State has a very intense club swimming program. Does anyone know of any schools where club sports, specifically club swimming, are more is serious?

It probably depends on the college and the particular sport. You may get an idea from a list here about swimming and then look at individual web sites for more info. http://www.myswimclub.org/MSC/teams.php Some club teams are harder to get on than others (involve tryouts, etc.) , again probably depending on the particular sport. Some club sports can be pretty time consuming. One of my kids played men’s club volleyball in college, which is very competitive because there are so few men’s varsity volleyball teams. But he did only play for one year because of the time commitment ( practice and out of town tournaments) and being an engineering major and needing to spend a lot of time on academics.

My daughter swims on the club team at the University of South Carolina. When went to practice twice a week because she had a class in the evenings. No problem at all. She traveled to 4 meets including the Club nationals at Georgia Tech. She loved it.
