Robotics, check out science olympiad, physics olympiad, math olympiad. start an engineering club (shows leadership), etc.

You could do building competitions amongst the members. The sturdiest and most attractive bridge out of popsicle sticks or something like that. Somethin engineering related. You should explore all areas of engineering, not just mechanical or architectural.

I think you could enter local engineering competitions. Some colleges, like Appalachian State, have engineering competitions. You probably will need a sponsor or a leader that is an adult.

also join national technical honor society if you have it at your school (you should receive an application if they choose you based on gpa and stuff)
