Pittsburgh averages over 200 days of cloud cover per year making it one of the top three cloudiest cities in the country

that doesnt sound so pleasing...

Pittsburgh actually has less rainfall than DC, NYC, Philly, Boston, many others.

But it has a lot of cloudy days with not much actual rain, just kind of drizzly. I think it has something to do with proximity to the lake (Erie that is).

It's not that bad. Pittsburgh has about the same number of cloudy days as rochester,ny, where I live. There will still be plenty of days where its good enoug to go outside, you just might have to stay inside every once in a while.

Um, it's really sunny right now. The cloudy weather doesn't bother me as much as it does some people. Like some people here have said, it doesn't actually rain very much. You can definitely still do stuff outside when it's cloudy, just not sunbathe.

Cloudy is awesome. I like the way the sky is all white and light isn't bright. I wanted to go to college in Seattle just for the cloudiness.

We've been told that the sun always comes out whenever parents visit! (Drop-off, Family Weekend, etc.). Actually, that has turned out to be true for us. :)

So....just make sure your parents visit often!

It's been too sunny and hot (70s) for the past few weeks. I find I can't pay attention in class when it is nice out and I actually see (OMG) pretty girls walking around in skirts.

I like cloudy, love the rains for some reason. Does it snow as well? Ive been caught in snowfall only once and on ice only once( in the Himalayas). I think it'd be hard to control my glee if it snowed.

Yes, it snows in winter. Not a huge amount, but definitely enough to make decent snow sculptures.

Well snow isn't too special to me. In fact, about a year and a half ago my town, and most of central ohio got 20 inches of snow in 2 days, then a huge icestorm came and did tons of damage. Several trees in town fell onto cars and houses, power was out for a whole week. We have a lot of trees in our yard, only one fell over but there were so many branches you couldn't even walk outside...and you love snow lol. I love snow too tho just not like that.

is the weather in pittsburgh at least consistent? The weather here gets so annoying cuz it will be in the 40s one week, 70s the next, 40 in the morning and 70 in the afternoon and stuff like that.

Inconsistencies are usually for a week or so during the transition between winter and summer. Right now it is pretty consistently sunny and warm/hot.

Lately the weather has been kind of spastic though. It does this once in fall and once in spring. I think pretty soon it's going to level out.
