CMU SCS requires 2 years mandatory Chem, Bio or Cs?

So, am I reading this right, or does the SCS actually require 2 years of any of those 3 listed subjects, as in the intro regents/honors class taken one year, then a following AP class? I have already taken 1 year of Chem, Bio, and CS, but I was unaware of the required second year of one of these classes. I have already filled my senior class load with more math/humanities based AP classes, and it is already to late for me to change any to a science AP class. Will I be unable to apply to the SCS?
Thank You.

bump…
Just need a confirmation on if this information is correct?

Hey Idolize,

I was also intending on applying for SCS, and I was a bit worried about that also because I took two years of Physics instead of 2 years of Chemistry. (not going for SCS anymore, but still EDing to CMU  )

I can’t tell you if this is exactly correct, but according to a person I know who attends CMU, it should not matter THAT much.

If you really want to make sure, I recommend you give them a call to assure those information. Good Luck!

Yeah, I was worried about this, too. So I shot them an e-mail. This was their response:

Thanks for your email to the Carnegie Mellon University Office of Undergraduate Admission.

Although it is listed as a requirement, not having two years of a science on your transcript will by no means prevent you from applying. We will still do a full academic review and make a decision based on the courses that you have taken, the rigor of the curriculum, and the grades received.

In short, we encourage you to still apply
