I am going to CMU next year as a freshman and i am interested in joining the male a capella group. i was just wondering how good the O's are at CMU. anybody know?

anybody know?

I know that there is a co-ed a capella group... I heard them and they were better than one of the groups I heard at Northwestern, but I don't think as good as the one at Rice...

hey TAlekhiNimz! I am going to be a voice major next fall at CMU, are you????? I actually haven't heard anything about the acapella group, I'll ask my friend who's a voice major there now and try and find out for you.

hey cirquemly33! no, actually im going to be majoring in Electrical and Computer engineering. But singing is a huge part of my life (been singing for 9 years) and i find it really fun especially a capella. i ask about this because the website of the all male a capella group of CMU, The originals, is like 3 years old. i was wondering if they still existed. and anyways the recordings they have posted on their website dont seem to be that great. anyways, please find out. thanks.

There is a men's group (not that great i dont think), and two coed groups. SoundBytes is one group and the other is Joyful Noise which pulls in people from Pitt as well as CMU. Joyful Noise is a christian group and is quite good. SoundBytes is good as well, but from the performances I have heard they tend to focus on a solo in a given song and do not pay much attention to any background.

not that great huh? well, if they dont turn out to be good, anybody want to start a new group?

Hmmm. Yeah, joyful noise is really impressive, and i dont even like christian music. I like soundbytes too though.
