CNS College Honors (Dean's; Health Science; Polymathic) Accept/Reject Decisions

Please post the honor program you applied; accept/reject decision; date notified, and personal stats. Thank you.

No word as of December 17.
Daughter applied late September, in-state, auto-admit. On Dec 14, she received notice admitted to biochemistry, her first choice. SAT 1360; 72/1077 rank; 4.75 weighted / 3.80 unweighted; 12 AP classes by graduation; Captain of Guard Program; community volunteer.

Bump for updates.
As of Jan 6, still no word for our daughter.

On Feb 1, my daughter received a notice to see an update to her MyStatus. The note wasn’t clear and we had to dig around to see that her Honors tab was changed, but not at first glance because it still says, “We’re still reviewing …”

You have to click Details button and there we found the update, that she is “deferred” on Honors, as I read it.

Details tab now says:

Thank you for submitting your application to The University of Texas at Austin and your interest in Health Science Scholars! Given the number of applications we’ve received and the increasing demand for some programs, we find that we must complete an additional review of your application before making a final decision.

We will do everything we can to provide a decision notification efficiently and no later than March 1. Thank you for your patience and interest in UT Austin!

I received my acceptance on Jan 31 and no update to Honors tab. Still says in review.

@gradclass2022 Which honors program were you admitted, and what is your intended major, and share some stats please. Thanks.

@WineDrinker I haven’t yet been (hopefully) admitted to the Deans Scholars program, but I was already admitted to UT as a biology major. Sorry if it made it seem like I was admitted to the program!! act: 33 gpa UW 4.0 and W 4.73

Gotcha. Good luck.

my daughter auto admitted to bio chemistry, waiting for honors now.

@WineDrinker Did your daughter or anyone else receive an email from CNS Honors?

@minimango As of this post, her status remains the same as I noted above on Feb 7. So, we are just anxiously patiently waiting to hear by March 1 for the Health Science honors decision.

@WineDrinker I think they updated the honors status section in the portal today.

@minimango Just checked my portal and no change in Honors section

No change here either, same comment as from Feb 1.

Mine hasn’t been updated since I submitted it.

Mine updated a couple days ago…

@minimango are you OOS?

No, in-state  @gradclass2022

Has any OOS gotten decisions from any of the Honors yet??

@gradclass2022 Are you out of state? Honestly it is harder for OOS to get into Dean’s if you just take a look at their class profile (they make up 15% of DS)… http://deansscholars.org/?page_id=409

@minimango yes I am and I think Deans Scholars would be the only thing that would push me to go to UT
