I am most comfortable in what I wear at home- always a skirt or dress slacks on a colder day (even if it's in the teens). However, the weather I'm used to is nothing compared to the places I'll be going to interview at the end of March/ beginning in April, and I'm never outside walking around on freezing days. I don't imagine I'll last long in rural IN nor Denver wearing a skirt or thin pants around campus all day long before my interview (during tours, classes), and although I can check what the actual temperature will be like, I would like some advice for those familiar with the areas as to what I can wear around campus, including to my interview, that is still classy and business-like but not freeze to death.

Put long underwear, tights or leggings under the dress slacks and you should be fine. Layering is the key.

Thanks! Should putting on a pair of just regular stockings under a pair of slacks work for IN/ CO early spring?

I am also open to any other suggestions. :) I am hoping to go shopping soon.

etselec has it right. Wear layers and bring a long overcoat, just in case. I've been in both states in March and the weather in both places is unpredictable. I'd say I was actually warmer, overall, in Colorado because the sun is usually out and, because the air is so dry, it tends to warm up pretty fast and there's not much heat loss to dry, cool air.

So, I should plan on not wearing skirts because of the layering factour and something that looks good with a long coat (not hard to pull off).

Thank you both very much. :) As I mentioned, I am able to see the numbers for the weather in both states but it's very helpful having advice from people who are experienced with it.

ARE YOU SERIOUS - SEARCH FUNCTION!!!

Seriously - use your mind.

To further validate my point, when I searched "what to wear interview" (no quotes) inside talk.collegeconfidential.com using google, I came up with 220 hits. TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY.
