Co-ed floor in the Commons, yes or no?

Thinking of this housing application and wondering the pros and cons of the coed floors in the commons. Are there any draw backs to going with the co-ed? Are the rooms, layout, bathroom (obviously not co-ed) identical? Any feedback on what your freshman year was like on, or not on, a co-ed floor?

Thanks again.

You can’t pick your residence hall in the commons.

You may not be able to pick your building or floor, but the questionnaire asks if you would be willing to live on a coed floor. ldklol may be asking for information to assist him/her in answering that question.

As far as I know, there aren’t any co-ed floors on commons. Must be on there in case of overflow issues or something. There are only like 6 floors capable of being co-ed (individual bathrooms) and like I said, I don’t think they’re co-ed. I wouldn’t think into it too much.

If those floors were converted to co-ed for some reason, they bring the advantage of having individual bathrooms. That’s about it. Individual bathrooms may sound special but they really aren’t that great at all. I can’t remember about the size of these rooms.

^
My understanding was that the plan for the commons was single sex floors. I figured they asked that question in case they had to create a coed floor due to the distribution of men and women in the freshman class.

Coed floors must be a new thing this year. All Commons houses were single-sex when I was a freshman (2010).

I really don’t think there will be co-ed floors. That question is always on the questionnaire as I recall and there have never been any.
