Co-Ed or Same Sex Floors?

I am a pretty social guy, but I don't like to party (as in drink, smoke) and I don't know where to room. I've always leaned towards single-sex cuz that's normal, but I hear the guy floors are a lot crazier (and smell worse) than co-ed floors. Any thoughts?

The guy's floor in my dorm definitely smells freaking terrible compared to the other floors...and I think the bathrooms are definitely nicer on my co-ed floor. Go co-ed, it's definitely more chill/calm. Single-sex might seem more normal, but really, you don't want weird smells hitting you whenever you open your door.

I agree that the all-male floors are crazier, louder, and smellier.

Our floor doesn't stink... nor is our bathroom really bad. I live on an all guys floor.

That's good to hear, SalikSyed. At any rate, my experience in three years has been that the order of craziness/loudness is:

All-male > Co-ed > All-female

Even though it may seem more normal to live with only other males, it will likely be more active than you'd like. I don't think co-ed floors are that odd; you can stay in your room as much as you'd like, or you can go to any floor you want to hang out. Sink space in the bathrooms is co-ed, but toilets and showers are separate for males and females (in some dorms, there are fully separate bathrooms for males and females).
