Coach isn't replying my emails

I have filled out questionnaires for a couple of colleges and they all have replied saying they were interested in me and I seen like a solid athlete. After replying their emails, I haven’t got any replies in about a week. I was just wondering if that is normal especially for Ivy leagues?

In what sport and what year are you? Were the emails sent to you generic “dear prospect” e mails, or where they personal e mails from a recruiting coach? How did you respond? Was there something in your e mail to them inviting them to dialogue with you?

You will get a variety of advice on this board, because recruiting is different for each school and sport. It is my opinion that if you are a junior, then it is still very early in the recruiting process and I would not worry too much about not getting an e mail reply within one week. Some coaches are aggressive recruiters, some are more laid back. If you are at the stage where you are just filling out questionnaires, then you are at the very beginning of this process, and I would try not to draw any conclusions for a couple of months. See how things shake out.

What year are you in HS? D1 and D2 coaches are not allowed to contact you (including reples to emails) until you are a Junior. This causes lots of angst but there’s nothing you can do about it.

Note that coaches can reply to others (like your HS coach) or can pick up the phone and talk to you if/when you call them.

If your sport is a spring sport, then remember - those coaches are trying to win games right now. Some will recruit in season, but many will not. I would second the earlier response regarding the type of response you are getting. Most questionnaires will get you a generic response with a camp invite of some sort.

All good advice above. Also realize that the coaches are presently dealing with the 60+ athletes on their current roster (I’m using track as an example) in addition to making sure the current group of graduating HS commits stay committed and an inbox that may have over 100 inquiries and updates each day from prospective athletes. They have a lot on their plates and the recruiting questionnaire processing is often delegated to assistants.

Just stay in regular contact with significant updates and don’t be afraid to pick up the phone and call (with the understanding that you’ll probably get voicemail and he won’t be allowed to return the call). Patience and persistence.

Also, I think this week is a dead period for some sports because spring signing is tomorrow.

My S is a junior, who plays football. He has gotten 4-5 personal emails from D3 coaches expressing interest. A couple of transcript requests from D1AA schools directed to his HC and a couple of D1AA coaches telling his HC that they will attend a spring practice to take a look at him. His HC says still early, and pretty much business as usual as college coaches engage in process of trying evaluating suspects in order to identify those that are worthy of being evaluated further. Hope this helps.
