Coalition App and Essays

Trying to get D19 organized for summer and preparing her college essays. I know both the Common App and the Coalition App have released the topics for the general essay.
DD has looked up some schools in the Common App and found some that require supplemental questions/essays.

How can we find if any schools using the Coalition App require supplemental essays? Not seeing anything jumping out at me when I click on a particular school.
Any suggestions?

Not sure about navigating the Coalition Application website, but most colleges have a dedicated page on supplemental essay topics. [For instance, here are the essay topics for Yale.](Essay Topics | Yale College Undergraduate Admissions)

EDIT: As @ninakatarina pointed out, I just realized that these are not the essay topics for the upcoming admissions cycle. The topics may or may not change, so take it for what it’s worth. Hope this helps.

Those Yale essay topics are for 2017-2018, they won’t release their next year’s topics until later in the summer.

I think a lot of the colleges take that approach, so be wary of starting the supplementals before July. No work is ever completely wasted and you may be able to recycle your essays for scholarships, but you still may end up with a frustrated kid when they change the requirements a month after she started.

i think you can’t go wrong in starting to figure out "Why " type answers…like Why do you want to apply to Yale

That’s a very good point. The added bonus to writing a “why” essay is that you’ve prepared yourself for any admissions interview by thinking deeply about that question.
