Coalition Application?

Is the coalition application a good way to apply? Two schools I’m applying to, Florida and Clemson, are a part of the application, and if I can cut down on the number of applications I have to do I will gladly do so. Would the coalition application be ok or ahould I go with the applications that the schools provide?

There are some schools that will not be instituting the Coalition App for the C/O 2021. There is a list somewhere on the internet that lists these schools. Most elite schools and flagship state schools should accept the Coalition app. I would still recommend the Common App

I’m doing the common app for some schools but some schools don’t have it!

I don’t know when Florida’s app opens, Clemson’s opens August 1. They determine housing preference by application date, so if you’re seriously interested in Clemson<I would complete my application as close to August 1 as possible.

The lofty goals of the coalition app are to provide an alternative way for students to chart and control some of their college search during the first 3 years of HS. Also, coalition members have to meet requirements for awarding fin aid.

Some people have cynically said it’s simply another set of hoops for students to jump through. I don’t see it as such.

Use it if it fits your need. The colleges are happy to admit people based on the coalition app or CA – despite skeptics who say otherwise.

The Clemson application is very easy to complete . There is no essay involved and my son was able to complete it in approx 1/2 hr last summer.
