<p>Correct term is Merchant Mariners. I graduated from KP in the 80s. KP is a great school and it is indeed a club, however if your child is not highly motivated to attend a service academy, I would not recommend attending either school. KP offers a very good education and graduates work in many aspects of maritime and engineering fields. I work for a shipping line and come across graduates from many years and I can tell you that it is indeed a club.</p>
