PS Everyone we’re approaching double the length of last year’s thread in terms of number of posts. Congrats to Coca-Cola for doubling the stress of its applicants

I’m from Texas :)

JRodriguezz13:

Yay Texas!!! Did you get a snowday last week?

So any hopes for tomorrow?

Lol it was very very little more like ice. I’m from south Texas.

Yay for Oklahoma:D
And we are soon to have even more snow…

I was in Texas last weekend for the Youth and Government State Conference.
Is anyone in Youth and Government?
I am the Lt. Governor from Oklahoma! (YaG is better than YiG!)

@JRodriguezz13

Maybe tomorrow or even the 9th…Not sure, but I called and they said: “Notifications are currently being sent to all semifinalist applicants and will be sent by post mail followed by email. Applicants will be notified no later than February 11th.”

The waiting and anticipation continues…why must they torture us so?! :(

My little town is 8,000, and I think I’m the first person coming out of it to want to eventually be a producer. It’s crazy when you branch out and realize the opportunities available! I’d have never known about this scholarship if it weren’t for my cousin who did the same, and was a national finalist.

I live in Indiana we got hit with the “SNOWPOCALYPSE” last week. I already decided on IU because I was a direct admit into the Kelley School of Business I am going to major in Public Policy Analysis and International Studies with a minor in a foreign language (or at least I hope so). This year in school I am taking 3 AP classes and 4 IB classes. Is anyone else an IB student? Like all of you I am getting so anxious about these results…I have been like this since last Friday when there was supposed to be results!! Good luck everyone!

I love the waiting though :)

By the way, I know that there isn’t number for finalists chosen from each state but do they at least select one from each state or do they just not chose any from that state if there was such a situation?

How can you love the waiting?! T__T

I’m from East Texas and all we got was ice too. But we still got a day outta school, it was so great. I hate the waiting it’s driving me crazy. I’m waiting to this one and a scholarship I’ve been working 6 years for so I’m totally on edge.

I believe (from what my sister was saying) that the finalists are interviewed and then they “fight” against people in their region.
I am from Oklahoma, and I would be fighting against people from Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and a few other states in the region.

But Honestly, is anyone in Youth and Government? (Or Youth in Government)

I’m from Texas as well and right by the Cowboys Stadium, so I had the craziness of the Superbowl in addition to the snow. Let’s just say it was one crazy week! Haha, but I was blessed enough to catch up on sleep during the six day weekend I had, so I have no complaints!

@PoStorm

Do you know which states are in the Hawaii region?

Finally back… Any news? We won our basketball game bracket busters. Anyway, hoping for tomorrow! I want to know now… Stop toying with my life, Coca-Cola Scholarship!

I’m so jealous of the snow ya’ll got in Dallas. I don’t envy you with the Superbowl madness; people go nuts about football. So as far as stats, how do people in the Texas, Ok, NM, and other states compare to each other? I don’t think I have a legit chance because I have no APs just college hours, and my school is super-tiny so not a lot of opportunities for extracurriculars other than sports.

Yeah, I think my scores and GPA are my highlights, but I feel that I lack the community service hours that many people have. In fact, I’d say I was towards the bottom in community service due to the time committment I have to all the EC’s I do. Either way, I’d just like the wait to be over, haha. I would be amazed if I was a finalist and super excited, but if not, I know that it is God’s plan.
