<p>Would it be worth emailing the admissions office to tell them I was selected as a Coca-Cola Scholar Semifinalist? Or would they not care?</p>

<p>It’s not going to hurt so why not. If they don’t care, they’ll ignore it. If they do, it may make a huge difference. I say send it</p>

<p>You are in a dialog with universities. You are in a competition to be admitted. Do you want to be bashful and not tell them all the best things about you? A very competitive program selected you above a slew of competitors, giving you outside validation from a well-respected and well-known organization.</p>

<p>Should you not tell them? You don’t have to. What if another student updates their status with this information? Wouldn’t you (as Harvard) assume that others who did not update did not get the accolade?</p>

<p>If you do not present your best self and tell the truth about who you are, and your achievements, then all else being equal, an equally qualified candidate who does tell this/her full story will likely be preferred and win admittance. Is this what you want? Why would you lie (lie of omission) to Harvard in order not to be admitted?</p>

<p>i never received an email OR a letter in the mail! im really confused, because i know i was at least supposed to be told if i didn’t qualify… ?</p>

i will be calling them later today to find out for sure</p>

<p>Definitely send it! It is a meaningful competition and being selected as a semi finalist is something you would want them to be aware of.</p>

<p>The Coca cola email was in our spam folder! Son almost missed it. However, we just got the official letter on Wens. before thanksgiving, as a follow up to the email. SO, if you don’t recieve a letter in a couple of days, I would think you probably did not get to the semi-finals. </p>
