...I advanced to semifinalist status in the Coca-Cola Scholarship competition. If so, how I would I do it? They prefer faxes, so would I just fax a brief note?

I have this exact same question! The DAY AFTER I submitted my Common Application, I found out about my semifinalist standing in the Coke competition and that I was named Best Citizen by the DAR. I wonder if it’s worth updating, or if they’d just get annoyed hahaha…

Yes! Definitely send in an update. Coca-Cola is a pretty prestigious award. Updates should be sent to apply.questions@yale.edu.

False. Send your update to your regional admissions officer.

Does every student know how to contact his regional admissions officer?

I should hope so. You can find it pretty easily by fiddling around on Yale’s admissions pages.

I just faxed it in, since that’s how Yale said they want application materials to be received.

^This is true if it’s urgent. If not, email works fine.

At this point, they’ve pretty much made most decisions for SCEA candidates, though.

^Don’t say that. that is scary.

Yeah, I think they’re just compiling financial info now, from what I’ve read on these threads.
Especially since they’ve made some decisions, like for some Questbridge applicants, I’d wager they’re at least near the final stages. With interview data due today though, there’s probably still a little more that goes on decision-wise.

According to my regional admissions officer, the decisions that they make aren’t set in stone until they mail out the letters/update the website.

I think that’s almost a given though haha.

Yeah, so I’m not sure why you and jry2028 were saying that the decisions were already made.

Allow me to clarify: Unless it’s something very seriously important (like Coca-Cola scholarship advancement) then don’t bother. At this point what’s done is done.

Thanks for all the input guys! I tried faxing, but it wouldn’t go through. I just sent an e-mail to my regional rep with a brief note and attached an updated resume. I don’t think it should be a problem; my friend who is Yale Class of 2013 said that the rep for our region is very receptive and kind.

Because I think they’ve been made for the most part. Of course, faxing in that you’ve done something substantial could affect your application, especially if you’re near the borderline, whether a high discipline issue or a prestigious scholarship. It’ll of course be considered though, the same way they’ll consider interviews conducted and submitted yesterday.

Who knows? It can’t hurt.

From [Yale’s website](http://admissions.yale.edu/staff):

They also say you can email it to apply.questions@yale.edu . Regional reps are too busy reviewing applications at this point to handle email too much, I would think.

Yeah, I read that, but as I said, my fax was acting up. Hopefully she gets a chance to at least look at it.

@fgsfds: It depends on the officer, I guess, because mine encouraged the submission.
