I'm a freshman attending a different college and I plan on transferring to the Cockrell School of Engineering next year. I was told you need around a 3.7-3.8 GPA in order to have a good chance of being accepted. However, I was looking around and I found this.

Transfer Times - Spring 2011 | Be a Longhorn

Under the How Grade Point Average Affects Transfer Admission section, it says that for Fall 2010, the average GPA of Cockrell transfers was only a 3.45 o_O. That's not the average GPA for Cockrell applicants, but for people that got admitted to Cockrell. That's lower than the average GPA for UGS which is 3.58.

Is that really all you need to get into Cockrell as a transfer provided you have all the technical coursework or did Cockrell just have different standards for Fall 2010 and now require higher standards for Fall 2013 applicants?

Thanks!
