Cognitive Science

I'm probably going to major in either cognitive science or one or two of the component fields if cognitive science isn't offered (probably computer science and or lingusitics). What schools are particuarly strong in the field?

I'm currently looking at Carleton, Chicago, Yale, Michigan, Rochester, Carniegie-Mellon, Hampshire, Havorford, Brown, Columbia, McGill.

In addition to what you've got:

MIT
Boston University (for their unusual Cognitive & Neural Systems department)
Indiana University - Bloomington

Swarthmore also has a Cog Sci major

If you're willing to go west, consider UC - Berkeley, which offers both cognitive science and linguistics as undergraduate majors. Very strong programs in both.

Good list. Among universities, JHU and Penn. Among LACs, Pomona and Wesleyan.

Brandeis is extremely strong in this area as well, although their financial situation is a bit shaky at the moment. Duke and Case Western would also be worth consideration, but they're fairly different from the other schools on your list.
