Colby Regular Decision 2022

@tr4732 congratulation ^^
I thought it’s very hard for an international student to get full scholarship
Maybe in my case, my low sat score (1360) is the reason I got rejected

accepted!!
Bunche scholar
ACT: 31
GPA: 4.6 W
decent amount of ECs (mainly different choirs)

Accepted!
1490 SAT
International student, attended high school in Canada
92% average
can’t decide if I want to go to LAC or McGill or UBC help

Waitlisted, which is great since I was expecting a flat-out rejection.
International student, asking for aid
1500 SAT, SAT II 800/800/720
96-97 GPA
No extraordinary ECs, tbh.

My DS was ACCEPTED as a Presidential Scholar with a HUGE aid package! After reading so much concerning Colby’s weight on demonstrated interest as well as the fact that it is need-aware, I was really worried. DS never visited nor showed any interest prior to the deadline, and he needed close to a full ride. He received an email from Colby saying their application was free and he had just knocked a couple of schools off his list, so he ended up applying a couple of days before the deadline on the advice of a friend who is an alum. DS’s school has a tight relationship with Colby and usually at least two or three kids a year get in, so that may have something to do with it. His stats were:
4.0 UW/W GPA
35 ACT (one sitting)
Top 5% (school doesn’t rank but we believe him to be in the top 3) of a very rigorous day school
National Merit Finalist
National Hispanic Scholar
US Presidential Scholar Candidate
HUGE EC, leadership, and community service involvement
Competitive Rower (though he didn’t contact coaching staff prior to applying since it was so last-minute)
URM
Highly regarded by faculty and peers at school, so I’m assuming excellent LOR

I don’t know what made him stand out to their admissions staff, but he is extremely excited to be in! Still waiting for Ivy Day before making final decisions, but right now Colby is in great standing as far as DS is concerned. But he hasn’t visited the school yet… we shall see how he feels after going up there!

Not sure how I got in! I was waitlisted at Williams the day before, so this was a nice surprise. I’m thinking that it was my common app essay that did it?? But I definitely feel that some of you guys who were rejected/waitlisted were more qualified than me…

Do any of you know how the decisions will be posted?

How were you notified of your decision?

@EmilyfromNH It’s on the portal.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted!!! Just wondering. Would people be interested in a group chat if I made one, so we can get to know each other more??

Does anyone know when admitted students are invited to campus?

@fadingblue101 there’s a Facebook group for accepted students to get to know each other
