Pretty much title. I am looking for lots of research and clinical experience.
You can see whether the methods of this site, which includes Hamilton, comport with your own criteria:
However, while Hamilton offers field placement opportunities in some areas, such as psychology, it will not offer you direct clinical exposure in the medical field, excepting EMT service. For something more extensive clinically, you would most likely need to seek summer placements. Particular research interests, however, can be pursued on campus, often as part of a for-credit class.
If you can attend the admitted student events at both schools, you can probably get your best answers, not just to the questions you are asking but also to those you have not thought of.
Both great choices.
Both are great choices for pre-med. You can major in anything and still get into medical school. Small LACs are really good for getting to know your professors (and hence good letters of recc).
You’ll also need to think about volunteer and clinical hours. The best way to do that is via a local hospital or physician. Looking at the maps, it looks like Colby has a small community hospital within walking distance of campus. Hamilton, on the other hand, the nearest hospital is about 20 mins away by car. Keep this in mind, as racking up clinical hours can take a long time.
