Cold Feet

All good @quonnie - I did not interpret your post as “snarky.” I was just saying that CC has been helpful for me over the past 6 months but every now and then, there are unhelpful comments. One example - I posted a question about formal education in character building and received a response that indicated how I was “trying to outsource parenting to a boarding school.” It was a little worse. There have been other worse examples towards others. @SevenDad got a few unfair remarks on an earlier thread. Calling me insensitive or naive was pretty tame - I didn’t take offense and didn’t mean to include your remark as such.

I think I would have an issue with the Deerfield option as well if this choice was likewise based on fear of academic challenge/success at Exeter. It might not be as difficult to revisit though. I recognize that the reputation/prestige span is greater with the Exeter-Peddie question though. This probably factors into the concern I have at least on a subconscious level.

I gracefully accept the congratulatory remarks on my good fortune. I attribute it, in part, to being born to my immigrant parents (who came here with nothing) looking for a better life for their kids in America. I can get very patriotic over this. I have a few posts expressing concern over meritocracy, but I digress…

@heartburner‌: I wish your son and your family all the best. In my opinion, it is just a cold feet, and your son will know what to do right after the revisit. I will be looking forward to seeing your post in the future sharing how your son is doing well in BS.

I agree with @Mussels in post #57!

I am glad he is honing in on a selection. :+1:
