What do you mean by “alumni”? Are you an alumnus or alumna of some school of relevance?

Also, and as you may have seen at colgate.edu, your secondary school reputation, class rank, recommendations and essays are of primary importance. How do you think you might compare to individuals in the Class of 2021?

Good luck with your search!

Meaning my grandfather went there.

a little low on the SATs. May also depend on whether you are looking for financial aid or not.

Yes looking for financial aid. Also had an killer interview and a letter was sent on my behalf.

If your grandfather attended then he is the alum;
you are the legacy applicant. You will be considered a legacy only if Colgate counts grandparents when considering legacy. Some schools just look at parents.

They look at grandparents - it’s a common app question.

you should definitely ED. It ups your chances a lot at Colgate. Colgate is need blind so they won’t look at your financial aid and having legacy will definitely help. Being a 3 sport athlete is definitely a good fit for Colgate it’s an overall very athletic school. I think you have a good chance but who knows. Best of luck! -Colgate Freshman:)

also if you get waitlisted call everyday, I was initially waitlisted and put in a lot of effort, eventually I got off. Heck I was waitlisted nearly 6 places and got off 2 waitlists.
