i think colgate meant that they were sending on the 28th.

I heard that Colgate will send mail to applicants ( not email). So they will maybe send on the 28th but we will receive it later, right?

ahh, I wish they'd send out acceptance letters sooner rather than later. They've made the decisions by the point anyway.

^How do you know ?

20LEGEND- Haha, I think this extra time is due to the dean handwriting notes to all the accepted applicants, haha.

I have it marked down that last year everyone started getting letters on the 30th.

well, you'd think they'd have made the decisions at this point. They're probably just figuring out financial aid packets. I'm just really nervous about all this, I wish they'd tell us sooner.

do you think id be able to cancel an application? theres no way im getting into colgate...i already got accepted to a reach school (its international though) that ranks as in the top 20 college/universities in the world , and im really looking forward to going there...

...i loved colgate when i visited last spring and figured it was worth a shot, but now that i know where im going...i dont want to have it in writing that i wasnt good enough. i was lucky to get accepted to an elite university, but i only did because they happened to not consider 9th and 10th grades, only 11th and 12th. i had bad depression during the first half of high school, and my grades then were basically B and B-s. i got a waitlist today from two schools, one of which was a backup for me and im freaking out, because in reality, with the way my 9th and 10th grade years affected my whole high school gpa, i really cant compete with other kids applying to my match to reach RD schools, colgate being one of them.

so is it too late to cancel? i just want to be happy with what i did acheive...and since im almost sure i know where im going that i can feel accomplished with that instead of feeling like i really cant compete.

they've probably already made your decision but you should send them a letter rescinding your app or call them asking how to. it's better that you do that asap so people can get off the waitlist.

Yes, be in hurry! I might get your slot, if I am not admitted

ohoh no i didnt do EDII, i applied regular...i was intially thinking colgate fro ED 1 but was drawn to NYU towards the beginning of senior year, but didnt get in and knew i had no chance for ED2 at colgate...if i was actually deferred from an ED round i probably would stick it out. but believe me, with my stats and all, i can assure you no one is going to be kept on the waitinglist because of me :)

like i said though...i got waitlisted at a backup/very low match yesterday. im pretty sure its because i pretty much had little to no obvious interest, but still, if its indicative of whats to come i really dont want to hear i wasnt good enoguh for colgate in writing.

ill call on monday seeing when decisions will be coming out and then decide if its possible to cancel mine.

Someone in the financial aid office told me they are mailing them out this Friday. Good luck everyone!

friday's so far from today... :(

the message on our "my colgate" page says that all decisions will be in the mail by the 26th. so, decisions should start arriving around friday

Welcome Applicants!
Colgate's Office of Admission has appreciated the contact we have had with you through your application process. We understand that you are eager to learn the outcome of your application, and we do plan to have all first-year decisions mailed no later than Wednesday, March 26. Please note we do not give out decisions over the phone. You should expect to receive your decision within a reasonable amount of postal delivery time after March 26. We thank you again for your interest in Colgate and give you our best wishes for your college career.

Well, apparently some decisions were mailed earlier, specifically on the March 20th. The date on the letter is the 26th though, which means I got mine a day earlier. Rather sadly the small envelope didn't bring me a desired acceptance. 9300 candidates, 730 places in the class.

I am international.

International? Where exactly? Ah, sorry for the rejection. I might as well get one. But I just hope not.

Czech Republic. What are your stats? I have 630/660/700, 730 Math II, 680 World History, class valedictorian.

Colgate AO told me that RD letters would be sent in this week.

Well, my stats are not that good. But I am posting them as you wished.

SAT1: 1960 (800 M 570 CR 590 W) - haha, very unbalanced I know!
SAT2: 770 Math2 700 Physics 690 Japanese with Listening

And I think I can be a valedictorian, because my GPA is good enough. Actually, I did not know how to tell adcoms that I am just not a good test-taker.
