Colgate to UVA transfer chances?

I'm going into my sophomore year at Colgate University, but I'm considering transferring to UVA for my junior and senior years. Colgate is an amazing school that provides its students with great opportunities, but I don't think it's the right fit for me. I committed to Colgate to play lacrosse there when I was only a junior in high school and since then I've changed a lot. I want an equally prestigious university, but one that's a lot bigger and in a warmer, more populated location.

My GPA second semester of freshman was a 3.4 which I think is pretty strong and good enough to give me a chance as a transfer applicant....my first semester GPA was not anywhere close to that though. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight as to what my chances look like. I'm really going to buckle down this year and keep my grades up/maintain at least a 3.4. My thought process is that if I maintain a 3.4 or higher my chances look good and since as Colgate is such a academically acclaimed university/I'm also a Division-1 athlete at the university my first semester grades won't hurt my chances too much. My SAT score was a 1270 (Math & CR) and I had a 3.8 unweighted in high school, please let me know your honest opinions!
