I am a Belgian girl who’s applying to Colgate University ED. Here are some of my stats;
Grades: I have all A’s and 5 B’s in total (all of high school) I have taken 13 courses per trimester so this is considered very good here in Belgium.
Standardized testing: TOEFL: 111/120
SAT: 1260/1600 (87th percentile)
Math 1 and French subject tests: yet to find out.
Languages: English, Dutch, and French (I also take Latin in school). Dutch is my mother tongue and the language that my classes are taught in.
International experiences (school): - Visiting student in Indiana for two months in my junior year
- Visiting student in California for two months in my sophomore year
Extracurriculars: Piano (all throughout high school), Musical theory and culture classes, (all throughout high school), Singing classes (all throughout high school), dressage and horse jumping (all throughout high school), alpine skiing (all throughout high school).
Volunteer work: I work in a fair trade shop (since sophomore year) where I fill the shelves but also make people more aware of the advantages of buying fair trade.
I also tutor both through school and on my own. I tutor in English, Dutch, French, and Latin.
Facts that might be important:
I am graduating a year early as in elementary school my teacher was concerned about me. I did an IQ test and skipped third grade because of the IQ test's result.
My personal statement is pretty great ( that's what the people that have read it tell me :) ) and my letters of recommendation will be too. ( I asked teachers that really adore me).
Furthermore, I plan on studying international relations or conflict and peace studies.
I am applying for financial aid but both my parents are senior scientists so we are pretty well off...

*Robotics - have participated in national level competitions including World robotics Olympiad, Indian robotics olympiad, have completed specializations on Coursera in robotics by UPenn.
*Dancing - teach orphans different forms of dance at weekends(3years), have participated in school level competitions, and also at the national level (Republic day event show done in the presence of the country’s prime minister and president).
*State level cricket player.
*State level participant in 400m relay, 200m.
*Worked for an NGO dedicated to rural development.
Active participate of the Rotary club under its sub branch, Rotoract.
*Coursera certification in robotics, 3D printing, entrepreneurship, and mentorship in 3D printing on coursera(by UIUC).
School level quizzing and MUNing (Modern United nations)
*KVPY scholar. (cleared the first round of KVPY,which is an examination to get direct entry to Indian Institute of Science(ranked 9th in the world in science and innovation).
*WRO(World Robotics Olympiad ) - reached the final round in nationals .
FIRST TECH CHALLENGE INDIA - participant.
*INSPIRE CAMP- an invitative by Indian Institute of Science to increase scientific enquiry in students, highly selective program which takes upto just 100 students from thousands of applicants.
I applied ED to Colgate with a 3.65 high school GPA, 32 ACT and 2020 SAT and got in if that helps. My step-grandfather also went there, but I don’t think that affected it much.
