Calmon,

Great news about your son, congratulations!!

i got accepted to northeastern university EA for criminal justice! yay!

Emhoffman, Congratulations! I hear Northeastern has an excellent criminal justice program!

maybe the kids will hook up considering its a train stop away!!

yes, Dearest Daughter got into Hentai University in South Korea. It may not be in the US, butn it is one of the best technical schools out here.

For those of you not familiar with Hentai U (which i assume is all of you who are not from Kwangju), its a small technical school specializing in biotech. D is really keen on pursuing this career (even considering the recent Korean stem cell scandals) and I am soo happy. Her other choices were Johns Hopkins and Geogetwon but it looks like she'll be staying on this side of the Pacific.

PS: I don't really know how to update the master acceptance list, so if anyone could help me out I would appreciate it!

Congratulations to everyone here! It's so terrific to read everyone's wonderful news.

jmmom - you mentioned a new interest in the transfer process, but didn't elaborate. Don't mean to hijack, but what's wrong? that sounded so sad.

Big News!!! S got into CalPoly his first choice!

congrats to Beacon's S - first choice!

pretet~ DS is returning to Tulane this terms, after the Katrina Visiting Student hiatus (which was fine). However, Tulane has announced it is phasing out his intended Engineering major, so.... he either has to change his major or transfer for next fall. I have posted about this before, but you were fortunate enough to miss my Pity Party ;). So we are in medias res here - preparing and submitting transfer apps, as this is his most likely scenario; but he is open minded re possibly staying at Tulane with a Physics major. Time will tell.

My D has heard from two schools so far...she's accepted at Towson & St John Fisher (Roch. NY)!!!!

jnmom
Gosh, what a year for your S & family. I know how loyal you've been to Tulane, and now S will still have to find a new school. my best

Congratulations to all on these wonderful new acceptances! And Happy New Year!

I got into SUNY Binghamton as an out-a-stater, I got into their Management prgm!

lulubelle, Congratulations! So glad to hear the good news!

jmmom - I am so sorry. It must be difficult for your s and your whole family, as well as his friends in the Tulane program.

May 2006 bring a revival of hope to all of you touched by Katrina, by Iraq, and by all the other disasters that have visited this old earth in 2005.

God bless, and here's to the future. It's the only one we have.

LindaLane - As a transfer student , Hiram has really changed my D's college ambitions . It's a lot like the other colleges you mentioned & freindly . The professors are so accessible and really propel the student towards their goals. The key element for me was the thought that my D socializes with other students who all got into pretty good grad schools this year . My D is a member of the vegetarian co - op so if your D decides to attend there , have her look my D up .

The other nice thing Hiram did was the FA package when my husband lost his job . I feel at ease knowing that my D will graduate because they will try to help her graduate in the record four years timeline .

But the excitement in her face when she talks of her assistanceship , working at the "scene" shop ( theatre carpentry ) for her FWS , co - managing the student coffeehouse , planning her trip to study abroad , the general acceptance of everyone from the football jocks to the geeks to the arty people from CA. I thought she would go bonkers in the small village atmosphere ( she is a city girl and most of her high school freinds are in Boston/NYC) but she loves it . I went to college in NYC area and look back and remember being in the city more than the classrooms so she really does concentrate on her studies more here .

I got in to the University of Hartford. Yay me! I was almost sure they wouldn't accept me because of me graduating early. Maturity thing. I'm only 16. I'm now waiting for UCONN. I applied early action. My GPA is 3.12 and my SAT score was 1060 without writing and 1620 with writing. Anyone think I have a chance?

Congratulations Early!

Thanks! but do you think I have a chance at UCONN?

DS was notified of admission to Case Western Reserve EA yesterday - also has an acceptance to Rutgers - six more apps are in and waiting to hear!!!
