Son in at Reed today!

Son in at Colorado College, Carleton, Macalester & Occidental. Yippee! Still waiting on a few others... I'm psyched (being careful not to steal his thunder), the kid is happy, but mellow, not stressed at all!

Lydia, When the kids can through this unstressed it is amazing! Congratulations!

My son is pretty quiet, but I notice more irritable these days. That's how he shows his stress, plus they're selling senior prom bids next week. At least he had a relaxing time in Australia with the band over spring break, but none of us know what will happen with the last 3 schools he applied to & what (if any) merit aid any schools will offer him.

Congrats to LondonB - that looks like my DD's list last year!! I know a very happy kid at Emory.

CalMom- Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! I hope the finaid is as good as the acceptances.

Carolyn - so good to hear your "voice" again. :)

My d (is dd darling daughter? I'm still learning) has received acceptances from Cornell, American (presidential), geneseo and BU, and is waiting patiently for UVA, Tufts and ivies today. Question for Kinshasa & momnipotent: did BU scholarship come with admissions offer or later, as I expected some $ from them as well. D is int'l relations, too, so am interested in Kinshasa's impressions. Mom: you must visit Boston as it's a fantastic city.

Waitlisted at JHU today. I'm pretty surprised I wasn't flat out rejected. With way below average stats. I can't complain.

In at WUSTL, Johns Hopkins, and Penn State, rejected at Princeton and Schreyer Honos at Penn State.

I don't want to celebrate yet. I have yet to hear from the biggie: Notre Dame. I'm hoping and praying that ND comes through; if I get in I'll be ecstatic. I'm also waiting on Penn, but I don't care what happens there; it's ND or bust!

OMG!! Son in at Dartmouth!!!

Rejected at Ivies. But is taking it well. We knew it was a longshot. Congrats to all who get in anywhere! We are setting our sights on Carleton where we were offered an incredible FA package!

I can't believe it. My D was accepted to Harvard. We are in shock.

I think we can identify a new medical condition -- we'll call it "Ivy Syndrome". Patient is typically an older adult with jaw hanging open, and alternate looks of pride and panic in their eyes. A twitching of the fingers as if trying to calculate Expected Family Contribution is the final sign.

Congratulations to quiltguru's daughter and menloparkmom's son, as well as all the other great acceptances!

Quiltguru, OMG! That is so wonderful!!!! I'll bet you are rereading this acceptance again and again! You need to celebrate tonight! What was your D's reaction? It must have been priceless to see it!

MP-Congrats on Dartmouth! I would have loved to see his reaction too!

Some amazing news today!

Quiltguru,
That's amazing. What a choice-Harvard or Yale!

Doing the happy dance for everyone!

Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! Congrats!

Oh, my gosh, my lopsided daughter got Columbia, Penn and a Harvard waitlist today to add to the ones she was already so happy about!!! We can't believe it. Spring break in New York. Wow.

It's been a long strange trip. I think I'll just put on some Doors music, really loud Doors music (....break on through to the other side, break on through......) and go hide in the closet. Goodness.

Thanks for the good wishes and for those I haven't congratulated in private (and to those I have) what a wonderful batch of acceptances.
