College admission after dismissal

So im pretty confused and sad right now. I was recently dismissed from a university and have been one year away from the university. Is it possible to get into another good school? Can i use my grades from high school and not show my grades from this university. What do i do? Please help

If you attended college classes after high school you have to show your grades from your university. You are now a transfer student not a freshman.

There is a National Clearing House which would have a record of you attending another college. Do not try to lie your way into another school. As stated above, you need to apply most likely as a Transfer (depending upon how units of credit you have) and submit the transcript from you first college.

You will need to apply as a transfer student. As noted above, you would not want lie on your application. And I’ll add that being honest and taking responsibility for your actions mean that you have grown from your experience and are less likely to run into problems in the future.
You can check school admission policies regarding requirements for transfer students. Schools understand that the transition to college can be a difficult one and tend to want to give second chances (but not third), though some will definitely not be in play, or will be a challenge. Make sure you explain in a transfer application what happened at your previous school and show how you have grown from the experience and why it won’t happen again. Admission officers are busy reading freshman applications now, but, if possible, you might want to arrange interviews in the spring so that you can meet with an admissions officer and discuss your situation with them. Good luck (and be honest and responsible).

You might want to schedule an appointment with your high school’s college counselor to talk about your options at this point.

You can enroll in a community college even if you are not in good standing from your previous university. Then after doing well there, you will be in good standing again and can apply to four year colleges.

You must be truthful on your applications. Therefore, if any application asks questions about whether and where you attended any school (and all do–check the common app for transfer students), you must answer that. Now, I don’t know the specifics of how you were dismissed, what year/semester you were in when this happened, but those things are relevant. For example, if you were dismissed in your first semester before any grades were final, some schools may still consider you a first-year applicant. That is up to each school, however. But I agree that it is far more likely that you will be considered a transfer student. Going to to a community college and showing academic success there can always help.

“Is it possible to get into another good school?”
First, what’s a “good school?” A comparable school to the one you attended? Something based on US News rankings? The answer really depends on the reason and the facts surrounding your dismissal. Health issues? Academic integrity issues? Academic performance? Code of Conduct violations? I have known students who have bounced back from dismissals (in all of those areas) and entered other highly regarded schools. But it always depended on what really happened, and not on wishful thinking. And I would not really recommend sharing such private details on CC anyway. Education advocates and lawyers might help here (since it’s a dismissal).
