Do colleges to take high school attendance into consideration when making decisions. I always had pretty good attendance, my absences were always excused and i never had tardies. But this year, my senior year i have a few unexcused tardies and a few unexcused absences and they also put me in internal suspension one time for being tardy. Never been in IS in my life. I’m just worried do colleges look at that when making a decision?
I assume by ‘internal suspension’ you mean ‘detention.’ Schools won’t know about and don’t care about detentions. If you were suspended from school - usually a very big deal and not related to a few unexcused tries and absences - then you would be expected to share it and explain it. (Most won’t care: They are worried about drugs, weapons and violence, not tardiness). But I think you are mixing up terms here. Go talk to your guidance counselor for clarification as to whether this gets reported to colleges or not.
they call it internal suspension so i don’t know
Attendance is irrelevant to colleges. Internal suspensions are irrelevant to colleges. Like N’s mom said: they’re looking for incidences of serious stuff – cheating, misdemeanors or felonies.
You’re 100% fine. As a matter of fact, many HS transcripts don’t even have attendance data. What does that tell you about how much weight colleges put on it?
