I’m a sophomore and recently took my PSAT test and got the scores from the College Board. Ever since then my email has been bombarded with various colleges saying they are interested in me and the email are all advertising their various guides “from the college” The links in the emails lead to sketchy sites like uofminn.org
Legit spam – you probably checked the box that said PSAT could send your information to colleges. Just delete them if you’re not interested in those schools.
.org emails are not suspicious at all in any way. They mean organization (thats what .org stands for) and can be trusted. These are colleges that College Board has forwarded your info to.
The one you mentioned in your first post is also linked from the official umn.edu as their application page, so it seems legit to me. https://www.uofminn.org/apply/
@guineagirl96 I wouldn’t say that they can be trusted… I just would say that you shouldn’t dismiss them for simply being from .org accounts. Anyone can register a .org domain, so it could be a legitimate organization, or just spam.
