College Board makes yet another Mistake: 2007 PSAT

"Question number 21 from the writing skills section of the Saturday form of the 2007 PSAT/NMSQT was removed from scoring. Due to a printing error that affected a significant number of test books, several letters of a word appearing in one of the answer choices for Question 21 did not print properly. To rectify this problem, question number 21 was not scored for any test taker. It is important to note, however, that the removal of this question did not affect the comparability of the 20-80 scaled scores for this section. Even with the removal of this question, the statistical process of equating, which is used to translate raw scores (based on right, wrong, and omitted responses) to scaled scores, ensures that the 20-80 scaled scores on this section are comparable to scores on the writing sections of other editions of the PSAT/NMSQT."

if you want to verify the veracity of this post, go to collegeboard.com and go to the psat/nmsqt section. You will then see a link that says: "Read important information about the writing skills section question 21 on the Saturday test."

this better not make the scores come later...grrr

ps: does anyone remember what question 21 was.....I know it's been a while.

Is this for the Wednesay or Saturday one?

^Saturday...

i guess if it was just a printing problem, its not really the college board's fault. do you expect them to examine every test booklet?

of course not...but they should definitely make sure that their equipment is functioning properly. But, it's only on little problem, not a big deal. My main purpose is just to inform people.

yeah. hopefully, the only one you missed was 21, so it wont affect your score.

thank you takenadult

It was the first identifying the error in the sentence question.
I remember it because people were whining about the word being blurred out even though there was blatant error later in the sentence.
