When did you guys first start recieving brochures from colleges? What colleges were they from? What school has the best brochures? If you get information from a college does that mean they are interested in you?

After I took the PSAT. Everywhere from Harvard to those unremembered. Eh… don’t remember, never made my application decisions based on them. No, it doesn’t mean they are actively interested in you.

Freshman year after PSAT. I got one from every Ivy League, + MIT, Caltech, UChi, Duke, Stanford etc.

“If you get information from a college does that mean they are interested in you?”

It makes them more interested then if you didn’t get one

It means they want you to apply there if they send you information. And they probably want you to apply there to pay there application fees. i remember getting letters from Harvard but knowing that they would never accept me. They only wanted my money. If a college waives their application fee for you, they’re probably interested in you.

I actually intended to save the brightly colored ones with the intention of making greeting cards out of them, but ended up throwing them out because we moved and they were too heavy for me to carry up the stairs—> what a waste of paper and energy.

I started receiving them this year.

-CSU’s
-Christian schools
-A Swedish school

That’s about it.

Yeah, I started getting letters a couple months after taking the PSATs. Usually they’re just generic letters and don’t really mean anything. But if you start getting brochures and letters where they want you to visit and will pay your travel fees or will waive your application fees, then THAT is definitely interest.

After my sophomore year PSAT. They didn’t stop until half way through senior year.

I just saved them up and recycled them at the end of each year. Although I did sort of use their brochures as a way to skim through school info and stuff.

oh thank god I don’t get them anymore, the occasional offer for more aid from other random schools but just thank god

you seriously hate them mid-junior to mid-senior year

I’ve only been getting them from garbage schools…lol. I think it’s because I choked my PSAT really badly.

I have been getting them since the beginning of freshman year.

This thread is just another excuse for people to flaunt their already overly inflated egos. Yawn.

Maybe mr. MIThopeful should focus on the fact that he is not rank 1 in his school, even though he constantly boasts how good a student he is. Some people enjoy thinking they are smart… “think” is the key word there.

Apparently, the school compiles a list of decent students, to send out brochures to. (That’s literally what one of my brochures said lol.)

I get them from a lot of no name schools, but then I got one from Dartmouth and U Chicago…made me feel special LOL…
