College campuses that resemble a "concrete jungle"

Female high school junior from Greater-Cincinnati area, 4.0 GPA, 32 on ACT, tennis player, looking for campuses that resemble a “concrete jungle”. I love UC’s campus, but I’m not satisfied with their academic standing. The urban campus with tons of buildings and built in structures, some even going underground, really appeal to me. If anyone could suggest some similar college campuses for me to check out, that would be great.

U of MN?

Pitt main campus?

Many (though not all) of the schools on this list are urban and have lots of modern concrete architecture. Includes Cincinnati, Minnesota, and UCSD (all nominated above)

BU and NYU are good fits and to a lesser extent Northeastern, which has somewhat of a campus but is still very in the middle of a city.

Georgia Tech or Georgia State? Both are emeddd in downtown Atlanta.

McGill.

McGill has some modern buildings, but certainly a lot of older ones. Don’t see a fit, there, myself. That Ava Maria campus is a hoot.

Columbia looked like a concrete jungle to me.

This is a new one. Most students don’t like those types of campuses. Not to criticize your choice at all, but there is a list of ugliest campuses, and you will probsbly find some of the colleges of interest to you. Just google it.

Many people say MIT is ugly, but of course it’s a high reach for all. U of Rochester is academically rigorous, and while not ugly, it does indeed have some quite utilitarian buildings and underground walkways. When I first saw it, I immediately thought that if there was a photo of a university as a dictionary definition, it would be Rochester. The location is good for access to the city. If you are a very strong student, this could be a good match school.

Fordham - Lincoln Center (small campus but may fit the bill).

George Washington University. It’s in the Heart of D.C. Less than 1 mile away from the White House.

“McGill has some modern buildings, but certainly a lot of older ones. Don’t see a fit, there, myself.”

It definitely does have some modern buildings and some older ones, many of which have very interesting architectural features (so it is not just a concrete jungle). There is also some green in this particular urban location (particularly the park on Mount Royal).

From the OP, I was thinking: Urban, very interesting city, tons of buildings, extensive underground mazes, very strong academics, 4.0 GPA should get a student in (particularly if unweighted), and weather that will be very familiar to a student from Cincinnati.

They also claim to play tennis year round (which I expect would require an indoor court, although we did not tour the athletic facilities on our various tours there):
