College Chances Q's. How can I raise my chances?

I am currently a senior at a rigorous private high school in New York. I have a list of colleges I want to go to and I was wondering if I could get opinions on my chances to get into them.

  1. UCLA (#1 CHOICE)
  2. Cal Berkeley
  3. U Southern California
  4. LMU
  5. SCU
  6. UCSB
  7. SDSU
  8. Syracuse
  9. UCSD
  10. Occidental
  11. Pepperdine (my mom went here)

I have a 3.7 UW average, and 1900 SAT (640 M, 640 W, 620 CR). I have taken 2 APs (scored a 3 and 4 on the tests) and 3 honors classes. I have taken the SAT subject test in Math Level II (710), and E/M Biology (680).

I am African American and Filipino, but I consider myself only African-American. I am the captain of the cross country and track and field team, and I am on the team year round. I am the VP of the African American Culture club, and member of the medical science club. I have around 150 of volunteer hours at a hospital, homeless shelter, and Habitat for Humanity programs. I am interested in becoming an engineer, and I had an interest in the bio-medical field.

What are my chances of getting into these schools? How can I raise those chances. Also would I be a more competitive applicant at any of the schools if I went in undeclared?

Thank you and any input or opinions help

Raising your SAT to 2100+ would really improve your chances at colleges like UCLA. What is your UC weighted GPA?

My UC weighted average is still a 3.7

  1. UCLA -reach
  2. Cal Berkeley - reach
  3. U Southern California - reach
  4. LMU - match
  5. SCU
  6. UCSB - low reach/high match
  7. SDSU - low reach
  8. Syracuse
  9. UCSD - match
  10. Occidental - match
  11. Pepperdine - match

Berkeley is pretty much out of reach.

UCLA - reach
Cal Berkeley - reach
U Southern California - reach
LMU - match
SCU - high match/low reach
UCSB - high match/low reach
SDSU - match
UCSD - reach
Pepperdine - match

Don’t know why @uclaparent9 said ucsd is a match. I’m assuming that was a mistake. Other than that, I definitely think you should try to take the SAT again or try the ACT and aim for a 2000+/31+ for a better chance at schools like SCU and UCSB.

@Wesk9797 yes! I meant a match for SDSU and a low reach for UCSD (I got confused between the two!)
