It feels weird. It’s probably more the way I twist my hair really tight when dying my hair. I tend to pull my hair a lot when I’m working the dye through it…

LOL I’m not putting Sims on my Mac. It’s not just for regular gameplay. I’m going to try to learn how to code and mod. I pretty much wrecked a spare desktop of mine because it was just so much (and I sucked at it—minor detail).

I’m going to look into the air. I’ll be able to keep video, my writing and Sims on my old laptop and then my new one could be just for school and who knows what.

Yes. I’ll definitely look into it.

Thank you, yankee.

If you’re getting the Air for the most absolute basic needs, go for the very cheapest option of either the 11 or 13 inch.

Is 256GB needed or should I just get 128GB?

If I get the cheapest option it would just be about $1000.

If you’re really thinking about keeping your old laptop too, get the 128GB.

I’m getting 256GB because I have a lot of movies/shows.

Ok. Thank you, yankee and CSIHSIS. I’m definitely getting the MBA. I don’t feel the sense of uncertainty that I felt with the MBP.

Seriously thought for a split second that you were talking about a Master’s in Business Administration…

:)

If you have an external HDD (I think you said this before) and an old laptop that can basically act like another external HDD, 128GB should be fine. Also, don’t get i7 and 8GB RAM, it’s overkill. i5 and 4GB should be able to run everything you need just fine. I also recommend the 13 inch over the 11, it’s just too small for a laptop…that could be a matter of opinion though.

Stock 13" model is the way to go. $1000 w/ best buy discount pricing (unless you can find it cheaper somewhere)

@Serenity That’s what I thought when I was reading an Mac forum. :p

@yankee Yes, I am bringing it with me. I also agree with the 13" over the 11". I want a screen of a laptop…not of a tablet!

See no one even thinking about posting a PC.

ugh i know nothing about computers :’( one day when i get one i hope its not crappy.

Stick with the newer ones to be safe. Personally I would read reviews on a laptops.

I’m debating whether or not to take my big heavy laptop in addition to my tablet. The more I use it, the less it seems I should take my laptop. Bc its an old dell its like 15 inches and its bulky and weighs like 8 pounds. I’ve been using my tablet and I’ve yet to come across anything it hasn’t done… Originally I planned to take it and have the tablet w/o a keyboard dock. If I add the dock, I get 11 hours of battery, 2 USB ports, and an HDMI cable.

Maybe ill keep the laptop first semester… But now I have to worry about locking it up -.-

Jazzii, bring your laptop with you, at least for your first semester. If after your first semester you don’t seem to need it then bring it (and keep it) back home. You never know.

It’s not that hard to lock up a laptop. You could get a laptop lock and lock it to your desk or lock it in a laptop security box (or regular lock box).

My Air will be out of sight, but my old laptop will be on my desk locked.

LOL You can change that, Descuff. Go on. Post a PC.

I got a 1 on both lit and govt. I don’t even care really…

Well this sucks. My collegeboard account isn’t connected to my AP number. This happens to me every damn year…

@jazz, I’m not sure a tablet is even ideal for college. From my experience using one instead of a computer is like “prepare to make many mistakes”.
I would do what Nyquil said.
@Nyquil: I’m looking for a PC silly. Go check out my empty threads on college computers

Don’t worry. I’m going to help you. skips to College Computers

imagines Niquii skipping through a field of poppies towards Oz I mean College Computers
