College Class of 2017

Aw Rachel :frowning: I have a little sister who is upset I’m leaving too, but it’s not that bad with her. Good luck with your little sis

I have a feeling that there are going to be a lot of tears when I leave… Is it socially acceptable to cry on an airplane?

Awh Rachel I’m sorry:( if it’s any consolation, it just means she really loves you.

My moms had multiple breakdowns. My parents are divorced and I’m an only. I’m actually excited about leaving everyone…

I should probably learn how to do laundry…

…

You don’t know how to do laundry…

@CSIHSIS Wow…umm wow…yeah probably. It’s not even hard.

CSI it’s really simple:

  1. Match clothes color. You put in dark with dark. If they look dark put it in. Common dark colors: purple, black, blue, deep red.
    Colors is a little tricky. If you have a bunch of random colors put then together. If you have 1 blue shirt and 10 red clothes… Don’t put them together.
    Whites is… White.
    Usually I like to put towels and beddings in a separate pile.
  2. Match the water temperature with the colors.
    Dark= cold
    Colors = warm
    Whites= hot
    Towels/sheets= hot.
  3. This will be,spilt for many people. After you turn on the water:
    Liquid detergent. Full up to the line of the cap and pour it in. Usually people wait till it fill up but ain’t no one got time for that.
    Pods thingy. I’ll be using these. Just put one pod in the water and the clothes in with it.
  4. Wait around an hour. Some washer might be faster or slower.
  5. Insert clothes in drying with dryer sheet or hang to dry.
    That’s it.

Tip: if you get your clothes out of the dryer at the, right moment and hang it up you won’t have to do any ironing.

Or you just pour the detergent and softer in the slide out tray and walk away. :)

Should have clarified: I know all the steps. I’ve just rarely done it in practice.

@niquii… Some washer don’t have that…

At least you know the steps…

One of my suitemates suggested a shower schedule…My roommate and I are like “Uh, yeah. How 'bout no.”

And I approve of your (CSIHSIS) poster plans for the dorm. :)

Also, I have to apologize to you guys, and Niquii especially, for my absence.

Jade… Why not? Having a schedule avoid potential conflicts. Some people may take longer then other. I’m sure you don’t want to deal with your suitemate who take a 50 minutes shower when you have class in 35 minutes.
I would honestly try the schedule.

Yeah, a schedule sounds a lot better. I like to know things ahead of time. I don’t want to end up being blocked from the bathroom for a long time, or end up blocking the bathroom for somebody else

Thank god I have a roommate who takes morning showers and I take
Night showers.

Wait, 50 minute showers? What the hell do you do for 50 minutes?

None of the other three of us has a regular shower schedule. My roomie and I because of our hair (it’s not best to wash funky colored hair daily) and the last because of a skin condition. Making a schedule wouldn’t work. Plus, I don’t like schedules. At all. I prefer to find my own rhythm.

@maddsm: Trust me. I know like 10 people that take shower longer than 30 minutes.

@Jade: Well good luck with that.

I’m a night showerer so I won’t have to worry about people in the morning. Of course on some days I could take my shower when most of the dorm will be empty late morning.

I HAVE taken a 45 minute shower…but that only because I had to shave my legs along with deep condition my hair.

At most I’ll take a 20 minute shower, but I don’t have to worry about that. I have 5 shower stalls to pick from. :)

You know, Mint, I feel like you hung me out to dry over here. I’ll have to process that apology.

Welp, I have to start actually working so…byyeeee

I usually take 15 minute showers. Though if I have the time, I’ll take longer.

Anyway, does anyone other than me have a work study?

I’m curious… Is there a difference between work-study and having a job on campus…?
