Hey Guys,
I got into the following colleges for the mentioned courses and it would be appreciated if the people in this forum could help me make a decision.
So, I got into:
Babson for Entrepreneurship, Kelley Direct Admit For Economic Consulting, Emory Undecided and USC for BA.
As of now, I am only sure that I want to do a business concentration and I don’t really want to do something theoretical as Business Administration. So if I go to USC, I would most probably switch to accounts and finance.
I mostly want to do Econ as a major or minor and Finance as the other major or minor. Also, party life is not that important for me. Once in a week or two weeks should be enough. However, the place should be convenient and accessible, not in a place far away from civilization. Also prestige of the school, and the strength of the course matters a lot.
Hope you guys can help me. Thanks.
???They are all prestigious and I imagine have as much strength as possible for business programs. Perhaps look into co-curricular opps associated with each business school or in the case of Emory, explore different departments as you will be in the college for about 2 years anyway. What else would you like to do other than check off a bunch of courses as BBA pre-reqs. Go learn about other things you’d be interested in. I don’t know many people literally only interested in business as an intellectual or academic pursuit.
People on here don’t really know about these programs so likely cannot respond. Like I said, this is up to your personal investigation and preferences. We can’t make this decision for you. It would be ridiculous to when we don’t know enough.
Babson is not close to comparable to the other programs in all sorts of ways.
The other business programs are pretty comparable in many metrics. One thing to consider is the networking available to you for internships and/or jobs. USC alumni are renown for taking care of the undergraduates. In all three cases many of the opportunities will be relatively local/regional, so there’s that to consider.
More importantly you should look at where you want to go to school. These are three very different schools in terms of their location, size, and the other students. If you want to go to football games and be around a lot of beautiful people go to USC. If you like a bit of a more intellectual crew who still know how to have fun go to Emory. Etc. You’re going to be there for four years – choose somewhere where the other kids are ‘your people’. They’re all high quality schools – if you do well it won’t matter much which of these three programs you attended – so figure out where you want to be in terms of the nature of the school and the nature of the people. No one can do that for you.
