Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of applying for internships at a couple of political media publications in D.C. I've learned that a lot of the places I'm applying are either reluctant or even unwilling to accept applications from high-school aged interns who are not applying through academic credit programs. This is apparently for liability reasons.

I navigated my way through my H.S.'s bureaucracy, and ended up learning from the superintendent of curriculum that our school can only grant credit for courses pre-approved by the board of ed. We have an independent study program, but it is only open to seniors, during the school year.

Anyway, I was thinking that I might be able to get some preemptive college credit from my local community college, a comm. coll. in D.C., or maybe a University in Chicago or D.C.

Any thoughts on where to look? I'm also open to doing this through a program not associated with a college/university.

Thanks in advance,
wmmk
